Lidge: "I feel good"

Brad Lidge allowed one hit, one unearned run and walked one in an inning of work in a minor league game today.

Lidge, recovering from knee and elbow surgeries, made his third appearance of the spring.

Lidge threw 20 pitches, 10 for strikes.

"It felt good," Lidge said. "Right now I think I just need to be throwing a lot of games. Hopefully it will still be kind of what we're thinking (which is two weeks into the regular season).

"I feel like my arm strength is coming, especially on my slider. Just about every slider I threw today I was happy with. My slider has come along a lot faster than my fastball. I'm still trying to get my arm going on my fastball which is, obviously, very important to me. But I got my work in and I feel good."

The Phillies anticipate that Lidge will be ready to pitch in the majors by the end of April. Lidge has personally targeted the team's home opener on April 12.
