Blanton returns to Pennsylvania, promptly gets ejected

Joe Blanton made his third start with the Los Angeles Dodgers yesterday, and it was certainly one to forget.

After allowing eight runs on three home runs in 4 1/3 innings, the former Phillies' starter was pulled by acting manager Trey Hillman. Hillman was filling in for Don Mattingly - who was already ejected along with Matt Kemp.

Blanton appeared to be displeased with home plate umpire Angel Campos, and as he was walking to the dugout, Blanton exchanged some words with Campos and was quickly told to join Mattingly and Kemp back in the clubhouse.

The Pittsburgh Pirates would go on to win, 10-6, giving A.J. Burnett his 15th win of the season.

After the game, Blanton, who leads the National League with 26 home runs allowed, had this to say:

"I'm not commenting on any of the umpiring today. I gave up two three-run homers to Garrett Jones. That made it tough."

Blanton is now 0-2 in three starts with the Dodgers, allowing 14 runs in 15 1/3 innings.
