CLEARWATER, Fla. - Brock Stassi drilled a three-run homer in the eighth inning Tuesday to push the Phillies to a 7-5 win over Baltimore after early contributions from Scott Kingery and Clay Buchholz at Spectrum Field.

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Brock Stassi drilled a three-run homer in the eighth inning Tuesday to push the Phillies to a 7-5 win over Baltimore after early contributions from Scott Kingery and Clay Buchholz at Spectrum Field.

Kingery, a prospect slated to open the season as double-A Reading's second baseman, homered, singled and made a leaping catch. Buchholz worked two scoreless innings in his Phillies spring debut.

Stassi's homer, his second of the spring, came against young Orioles pitcher Cody Sedlock. He was Baltimore's top draft pick last summer and is a veteran of nine professional games. Stassi, 27, has made a strong case during the first week of Grapefruit League games for a bench job.

Aaron Altherr also homered off Sedlock. Tommy Joseph, earlier in the game, crushed a solo homer that struck the roof of the tiki bar in left field.

Two young starters, Nick Pivetta and Elniery Garcia, permitted four runs (three earned) in the later innings.
