When in Minnesota, think before pecking

The latest civil-rights affront took place in, of all places, Minnesota - where a kiss isn't always just a kiss.

Taylor Campione and her partner, Kelsi Culpepper, say they will file a formal complaint with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights alleging discrimination for being scolded by a Target Field security guard on May 27 after the two briefly kissed during the game.

In an interview with the alternative weekly City Pages, Campione said that after the peck, the guard, whose name has not been released, told them: "I saw you kissing that girl, you can't do that."

Campione responded that she could kiss whoever she wanted to, to which the guard allegedly replied: "Well, we don't play grab ass here."

The argument continued until, Campione told the weekly, the guard threw this zinger at the couple: "Well, here in the stadium, we adhere to the Ten Commandments."

That's when she talked to the management. Twins spokesman Kevin Smith said the guard, who has worked for the club nearly a decade, has been reprimanded.

Big Daddy Vladdy gets his 2,500th career hit

We remember Vladimir Guerrero when he was playing with the then-Anaheim Angels, where the locals called him "Big Daddy Vladdy" in the hopes that he would power them back to the World Series. He did not, but it wasn't for lack of trying. From 2004 to 2009, he smacked 196 homers and averaged over .300 during those years.

Now a Baltimore Oriole, the 36-year-old free swinger reached his latest milestone Thursday against the Blue Jays: He notched his 2,500th career hit. It was a double. He finished the day with No. 2,501, a single in the ninth.

For the record: He is the 94th player to reach the 2,500-hit milestone. He also is a career .318 hitter, and his 442 home runs puts him at No. 35 on the all-time list.
