FANDOM KNOWS no boundaries.

Or in this case, level of stupidity.

A woman with an affinity for Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun held up a giant poster board that said "Marry me, Ryan" during last Friday's Brewers-Astros game in a bold display of her affection.

Happens all the time right? Yeah, we know, except . . .

The woman, known only as "Robin," felt the best way to get Braun's attention was to include her cellphone number.

Blonde jokes notwithstanding (she actually is a blonde, but we aren't going there), according to a Yahoo!Sports report, the woman was "wondering" why her voicemail was bombarded with messages from people making funnies at her expense.

"It seemed like a good idea," she said.

But the real kicker is that since hearing her embarassing tale, Braun has tried to contact Robin - but has been unable to do so, with her phone turned off and, if she's smart, number changed.

"I guess it wasn't meant to be," Braun joked.

The two Okugos

Union midfielder Amobi Okugo isn't the only star in the family. His brother Akachi, a 6-1, 165-pound senior point guard at Jesuit High in Sacramento, Calif., has interest from Nevada, California, Stanford, Notre Dame and Penn, the latter of which got a "Upenn would b nice for my bro," response from Amobi via his Twitter feed.

Akachi, whose name means "Hand of God" in Nigerian, sounds better suited for a spot on the 1986 Argentine soccer team with Diego Maradona.

Born to run

Neil Weygandt, a 64-year-old Upper Darby native, is featured among the "Faces in the Crowd" in this week's Sports Illustrated after completing his 45th consecutive Boston Marathon in 5 hours, 52.14 seconds. Weygandt, who ran cross-country at Widener (formerly PMC College), is now a Boston resident. His personal best of 2 hours, 36 minutes, 51 seconds came in 1983.
