ATLANTA - Tim Hudson struck out a career-high 13 and Martin Prado equaled his career best with five RBIs, powering the Atlanta Braves to a 12-3 rout of the Florida Marlins on Saturday night.

ATLANTA - Tim Hudson struck out a career-high 13 and Martin Prado equaled his career best with five RBIs, powering the Atlanta Braves to a 12-3 rout of the Florida Marlins on Saturday night.

Matt Diaz and Eric Hinske also homered for the Braves, who scored six runs in the second and snapped a four-game losing streak, their longest since April. They maintained a two-game lead in the NL East over the Phillies.

Hudson (15-5), who has come back from major elbow surgery with perhaps the best season of his career, struck out the first two Florida batters for a career 1,500, earning a long cheer from the Turner Field crowd. He stepped off the mound and tipped his hat.

Hudson closed with a flourish, fanning the side in the seventh to eclipse his previous career best of 12 strikeouts.

The Braves blew the game open early, sending 11 hitters to the plate in the second against Ricky Nolasco (14-9).

Cubs 3, Reds 2

CINCINNATI - Kosuke Fukudome hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer off Bronson Arroyo, and Chicago finally ended years of futility against the righthander by beating Cincinnati.

Fukudome's homer in the fifth inning sent Arroyo (14-8) to his first loss against the Cubs since 2007. Arroyo had won his last five decisions against Chicago, including his two starts this season.

Randy Wells (6-12) got a victory on his 28th birthday - his first win since July 23. Wells limited the NL's top offense to five hits and a pair of runs in six innings, including Joey Votto's solo homer.

It was just Chicago's fourth win in 15 games against Cincinnati this season.
