Tonight's pitchers

Phillies RHP Roy Halladay (15-8, 2.24) vs. Nationals RHP Jason Marquis (0-5, 14.33)

Who's hot

Shane Victorino: The centerfielder entered last night with seven hits, three of them doubles, in his last 17 at-bats. He had both of the Phillies' two hits against Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez last night.

Who's not

Placido Polanco: Since taking the lead in the NL batting race with a 4-for-5 night that lifted his average to .325, Polanco is 0-for-8. It is the first time he has been held hitless in back-to-back games since May 21-22 vs. Boston.

Three matchups to watch

Roy Halladay vs. Nationals: Halladay has only faced the Nats once this season, and it was his first start as a Phillie, when he allowed one run in seven innings of an 11-1, Opening Day win.

Phillies vs. Jason Marquis: Two of Marquis' five starts have come against the Phillies, and neither went well: He allowed 12 earned runs in 8 1/3 innings in a pair of losses in April. The Nats have lost all five of his starts, and he has not allowed fewer than five runs in any of them.

Phillies vs. Nationals: They haven't played particularly well against Washington, having won five of nine games.
