Phillies righthander Tom Gordon, who is on the disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder, began a conditioning program yesterday at the Carpenter Complex in Clearwater, Fla.

Phillies righthander Tom Gordon, who is on the disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder, began a conditioning program yesterday at the Carpenter Complex in Clearwater, Fla.

The reliever will be in Clearwater through the week and will be evaluated by Phillies team physician Michael Ciccotti on Monday.

Gordon is 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA and five saves in eight opportunities this season.

Righthander Brett Myers has taken Gordon's place as the team's closer. Myers is 1-0 with a 0.90 ERA and six saves in seven opportunities since he moved to the bullpen.
