The rightfielder, who said the disease was diagnosed six months ago, was out of the starting lineup for the last four games through Sunday.

New York Yankees prospect Phil Hughes, a 2004 first-round draft pick, will make his major-league debut earlier than expected when the Yankees play Thursday against Toronto.

Hughes is 2-1 with a 3.94 ERA in three starts at triple-A Scranton.
