Kyle Greentree had opened the scoring for the Phantoms at 9 minutes, 33 seconds of the first period when he redirected a shot by Matt Davis.
Stefan Ruzicka added another goal at 1:18 of the second period.
Steve Regier scored his 18th goal of the season and the Sound Tigers' only goal of the game at 5:32 of the second period.
The score stayed 2-1 until Zingoni's goal 17:55 into the third period. It came when Mark Cullen forced a turnover in the Bridgeport end and centered into the slot for a one-timer. It was Zingoni's 18th goal of the season.
Both teams missed chances to capitalize on power plays.
Martin Houle made 26 saves on 27 shots on goal for the Phantoms.
