Freedoms win behind V. Williams

AMHERST, Mass. - Wimbledon winner Venus Williams continued to have a major impact on World TeamTennis, winning all three sets in which she appeared last night as the Freedoms beat the Boston Lobsters, 18-14, at Harvard University's Bright Arena.

AMHERST, Mass. - Wimbledon winner Venus Williams continued to have a major impact on World TeamTennis, winning all three sets in which she appeared last night as the Freedoms beat the Boston Lobsters, 18-14, at Harvard University's Bright Arena.

Williams, who won the Freedoms' final eight points on Tuesday night, captured the women's singles and doubles and mixed doubles last night.

She beat Julie Ditty, 5-1, then teamed with Lisa Raymond to beat Ditty and Christina Fusano, 5-0. In mixed doubles, Williams and Daniel Nestor beat Ditty and Amir Hadad, 5-3.

Boston's Nikita Kryvonos beat Frederic Niemeyer, 5-1, in men's singles. Hadad and Kryvonos beat Niemeyer and Nestor, 5-2, in men's doubles.
