Flyers first-round pick Nolan Patrick was treated for the facial infection that prevented him from skating this week.

"Nolan had an abscess/boil that has been addressed and he is doing well," Flyers general manager Ron Hextall said in a brief statement released Friday evening.

Patrick, the No. 2 overall pick, had sports hernia surgery prior to June's draft and was held out of the team's rookie development camp earlier this month. He was expected to skate this past week, but those plans were scrapped when he developed the infection.

Flyers training camp will be in September. Their first exhibition game is Sept. 17 at the New York Islanders.
