Thursday's South Jersey roundup

Highlights from South Jersey sports on Thursday.

Dan Arone scored the game-winning goal with seven minutes left in the match Thursday to lead the Rancocas Valley boys' soccer team to a 3-1 win against Haddonfield in the South Jersey Coaches Tournament semifinals. Keegan Teschko opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the first half.

Haddonfield's Jack Dugan blasted a 53-yard shot to cut the lead to 2-1 in the second half, but JC Johnson added an insurance goal late for Rancocas Valley.

Rancocas Valley will face the winner of the Washington Township-Mainland match on Saturday at Rowan University.

Jonah Gill netted a pair of goals to lead Cherokee to a 4-3 overtime win against host Winslow Township. Travis Gould and Rome Young also struck for the Chiefs in the Olympic Conference win.

Jonathan Landis scored the game-winning goal in double overtime to lift Lenape to a 1-0 win against visiting Hightstown. Mark Capocasale had the assist and Collin Day made nine saves in the shutout.

Dennis McAllister notched a hat trick as visiting Wildwood downed St. Joseoph, 5-2. Will Long and Tyler Tomlin also added goals for the visitors.

Girls’ Soccer

Moorestown Friends edged Audubon, 5-3, in nonconference action. The Foxes got all five goals in the second half as Alexis Kasper struck twice and Madison Bouggess, Micaela Coll and Kieran Lees each added a goal. Emily McGrath, Maddie Spink and Jackie Stocklin tallied a goal apiece in the first half for Audubon.

Nicole Dilullo notched a pair of goals to lead Cherokee to a 5-1 win against visiting Winslow Township in Olympic Conference action. Goalkeepers Rebecca Wolf and Katie Parker combined to make five saves for the Chiefs.

Hammonton got two goals from Kendall Stansbury and one by Maddie Mortelliti to blank Cumberland, 3-0, on the road in Tri-County Conference play.

Field Hockey

Hailey Fowler tallied two goals and Rhian Freire chipped in one more to lift Cedar Creek to a 3-1 win against visiting Lower Cape May in the South Group 2 quarterfinals. Tori Wilson had two assists while Isabella Fox made six saves in the cage.

Samantha Derkas, Olivia Quagliero, Abigail Regn and Cassidy Strittmatter scored a goal each to lead Seneca past Delran, 4-2, in the Central Group 2 quarterfinals. Jenna Flemings made three saves for the Golden Eagles.

Jazmine Torres scored twice as Sterling edged Pinelands, 3-2, in the South Group 2 quarterfinals. Olivia Williams also scored for Sterling.

Top-seeded West Deptford blanked Triton, 7-0, in the quarterfinals of South Group 2 action. Miranda Mason and Camryn Ley led the way with two goals apiece in the win. MacKenzie Ponto, Jessica McGivern and Halle Dreger each added a goal. Alexis Foglio made 30 saves for Triton in the loss.
