The Agnes Irwin varsity squash team captured the Inter-Ac title on Tuesday with an 8-1 win over Penn Charter.

AIS received wins from Lily Zelov, Olivia Walsh, Rachel Mashek, Margaux Comai, Caroline Glaser, Grace Flaherty, Cate Costin, and Natalie Corkran. Katherine Glaser lost to Penn Charter's Elizabeth Ross.

"The girls did well to keep their concentration today against a strong Penn Charter team," said Agnes Irwin head coach Alex Stait. "Winning the Inter-Ac has been a goal of ours for several years. It's the strongest league in the country with 2-3 teams consistently ranked in the top five in the U.S."

Stait went on to say that team spirit has played a big role in the team's success.

Next up for the Owls will be the MASA Championships during the first weekend of February, where the team will be the top seed. After that, the team will play in the U.S. High School National Championships and look to improve on last year's fifth-place finish.
