Perkiomen School tops Episcopal in baseball

Devon Crossin added five strikeouts in 31/3 innings for the Panthers, who advance to the semifinals against host Upper Perkiomen at 4 p.m. Saturday.

In other PAISAA quarterfinal action, Shane Muntz threw five innings and struck out seven in Malvern Prep's 7-3 home win against Germantown Academy. Jake Mullen and Matt Daller drove in two runs each.

District 1 Class A Semifinals. Jameson Colb went 2 for 3 with two RBIs in Jenkintown's 11-1 win over Delco Christian at Penncrest. John Contoudis was the winning pitcher.

Nonleague. Brandon Smith struck out six and allowed two hits in New Hope-Solebury's 11-0 home victory over King's Christian. Smith also went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and two RBIs.

Kyle Wenclawiak struck out 10 batters in host Mast Charter's 8-0 victory against Science Leadership.

Softball

Maddie Saltzman threw seven scoreless innings in Springside Chestnut Hill's 2-0 victory over host Episcopal Academy in the PIASAA semifinals. Saltzman struck out five, walked three, and allowed three hits. Kayle McTamney went 2 for 4 with one RBI.

In other PIASAA semifinal action, Penn Charter snagged an 8-2 home win against Baldwin, as Bridget Gutpelet went 3 for 3 with three runs scored and two stolen bases. Eileen Hennessy added a 2-for-4 effort with two runs scored and two RBIs.

The stage is set for the Blue Devils and the Quakers to face off in the PAISAA championship game, scheduled for Saturday.

District 1 Class A playoffs. Julia Lee went 2 for 3 with a double and two stolen bases in Christian Academy's 10-5 win against visiting Faith Christian. Carli Sitkowski added a home run and three RBIs in the first-round win for the fourth-seeded Crusaders.
