Pa. boys and girls: Malvern Prep's Wills cruises to Inter-Ac title

Wills cruised to victory in 17 minutes, 1 second to capture the Inter-Ac boys' cross-country championship on Belmont Plateau's 3.1 mile course.

Episcopal Academy's Jakob Jorgensen finished next in 17:28. Episcopal won the team title.

Germantown Academy's Abbe Goldstein won the girls' race in 18:55. Teammate Maggie Hallahan crossed second, but GA lost the team title to Notre Dame by one point.

Girls' Soccer

Penn recruit Emily Sands scored three times to set Westtown's single-season scoring mark in a 4-2 win over Friends' Central.

Sands has 23 goals this season for the Moose, who clinched first place in the Friends' Schools League.

Field Hockey

Tori Wright assisted on both of Caroline McGovern's goals in No. 18 Council Rock North's 2-1 win at No. 15 Perkiomen Valley in the first round of the District 1 Class AAA tournament.

Golf

Great Valley's Geoff Rice shot a 2-over 73 to finish in a three-way tie for first after Day 1 of the PIAA Class AAA championship at Heritage Hills in York.

Radnor's Brynn Walker carded 2-over 74 and was 1 stroke off the lead in the AAA girls' event.
