Henry Fairfax has stepped down as head coach of the Haverford School basketball team to focus on his work as an administrator at the school.

Fairfax, a 1999 graduate of the Haverford School, has been the school's head of admissions since 2010. Fairfax led the Fords to an Inter-Ac championship as a senior and went on to play at Drexel.

The Fords coach since 2012, Fairfax leaves with a record of 65-40 overall and 25-15 in league play. The Fords finished in third place with a 7-3 league record this season behind Episcopal Academy and champion Germantown Academy.

Fairfax said he gained clarity after completing a recent program for aspiring heads of school.

"It gave me a chance to sit down and reflect on what exactly I want to do in this space for education," Fairfax said. "It kind of re-centered me on my ultimate goal to be an inspiration as a school leader."
