Wearing her signature high socks, Shipley's Sox Alexander recorded her 1,000th career point on Friday as the host Gators rolled past Moorestown Friends, 64-10, in a Friends Schools League basketball game.

The junior point guard, who has committed to St. John's, sank a layup early in the second quarter to reach the milestone and was removed from the game with 24 points and 1,001 for her career.

She began wearing high socks at an AAU tryout before her freshman year, and the nickname "Sox" stuck.

"It's pretty hard-pressed to find anyone that calls her Tamesha," Shipley coach Sean Costello said.

Alexander averages 13 points and five assists, which Costello said is a result of the guard's ability to spread the offense. She is also in good shape to reach the school's all-time mark of 1,290 set in 2002 by Erin Venafra.

Alexander is the first Shipley player to reach 1,000 since Alex Lennon in 2009. Now at West Chester, Lennon scored her 1,000th collegiate point last week and will help honor Alexander on Friday.

Catholic. Kristie Costantino hit seven of her eight fourth-quarter foul shots to seal Archbishop Carroll's 59-57 win over visiting Neumann-Goretti.

The senior guard added four steals and four assists. Senior forward Sarah Curran scored 15 of her game-high 26 points in the third quarter.

Taylor Adair's eight points led Archbishop Ryan to a 50-28 triumph over visiting Hallahan. The Ragdolls used a balanced offense that featured 13 scorers.

Suburban One. Jessica Gerber finished with a game-high 24 points and eclipsed her own school record as Council Rock North raced past host Truman, 70-36.

The sophomore knocked down seven three-pointers to set the school's single-game record. Earlier this season, she hit six threes. Krista Campbell added 11 points.
