Thurs. Pa. girls’ roundup: Tedesco hits milestone as FCS rolls

Ashley Tedesco became the second Friends' Central lacrosse player to reach the lofty plateau of 300 career points, assisting on the opening goal of the Phoenix's 17-2 victory over visiting George School on Thursday.

Tedesco, a junior midfielder, set up the first of Emma Dahle's four goals to reach the milestone and also contributed four goals of her own in the Friends Schools League game.

Tedesco has 168 goals and 138 assists for 306 career points.

Becca Dahle (139 goals, 172 assists) reached 300 points on April 25.

Catholic Academies. Villa Maria's 19-7 win at Nazareth Academy featured Catherine Benindelli's three goals and three assists, and goalie Bridget Steinmetz's seven saves.

Nonleague. Freshman center Ashley Stefanowicz scored a career-high 10 goals, dominating St. Basil's 13-11 win over visiting Archbishop Ryan.

Softball

Ellie Murray's bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Maddie Michael, snapping a scoreless deadlock and ending Conwell-Egan's 1-0 Catholic League win over visiting Little Flower. Gina Massaro struck out 14 in a two-hit shutout.

Winning pitcher Kerri Dadalski helped herself by rapping a single and a three-run homer, and Megan Wolf had three hits as Archbishop Ryan dealt host Archbishop Wood a 12-2 setback.

St. Hubert handed visiting Neumann-Goretti a 7-0 setback behind Erica Ragazzone's 11-strikeout two-hitter and Brittany Smith's two hits and three RBIs.

Bicentennial. Bristol clinched the Independence Division championship with a 15-0 win at New Hope-Solebury. Mary Wallick pitched a two-hitter and went 3 for 5, and Morgan Cullen added three RBIs.

Suburban One. Pennsbury stayed atop the National Conference standings via a 10-0 win over visiting Abington. Val Buehler threw a three-hitter with eight strikeouts, and Suzanne Swanicke homered.

Ches-Mont. Alie Alkins and Amanda Lewis hit back-to-back home runs for the third time this season, highlighting Sun Valley's 7-1 victory over visiting Kennett.

Pioneer Athletic. Sara Sermarini went 2 for 4 and scored the winning run on Megan O'Connor's fourth-inning single, lifting Perkiomen Valley past visiting Phoenixville, 3-2.

Central. Shannon Nestel's single scored courtesy runner Larissa Locke in the bottom of the seventh to give Ridley a 5-4 thriller over visiting Garnet Valley.

Penncrest pitcher Hayley Sundra allowed just one hit and Mikayla Brady drove in three runs as the Lions blanked visiting Harriton, 10-0.

Catholic Academies. St. Basil struck for seven first-inning runs and cruised past visiting Merion Mercy, 9-0. Lauren Brogan and Kaitlyn Brogan drove in two runs apiece.
