Could be a District 12 party

A LOT CAN HAPPEN between now and Saturday afternoon, but . . . As in 2011, is it possible District 12 will produce three state basketball champions?

A LOT CAN HAPPEN between now and Saturday afternoon, but . . .

As in 2011, is it possible District 12 will produce three state basketball champions?

This much we know: Friday at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center, Philly will be represented in the Class A (2 o'clock) and AAA (8 o'clock) state finals.

How can we be so confident? Pretty simple. Tomorrow's semis in each classification will feature nothing but D-12 squads.

In a doubleheader at Southern, Constitution will meet Math, Civics and Sciences Charter at 6 (A) followed by Ss. Neumann-Goretti vs. Boys' Latin Charter (AAA) at 7:30. MC & S and N-G are defending state champs.

Imhotep Charter, the other '11 kingpin (AA), is also still alive. The Panthers' semifinal, vs. Holy Cross of suburban Scranton, will be played Wednesday night, 7 o'clock, at Liberty High in Bethlehem. That classification's championship game will be played Saturday at 2 o'clock.
