Tues. Pa. girls' roundup: C.R. South wins in OT

The score was tied at 47 when Wheatley intercepted a North pass with 2 minutes, 25 seconds left in the overtime. She dribbled to about the top of the key and fed Caitlin Jackson for a layup.

The Golden Hawks then hit 3 of 4 free throws to seal the win. They were 12 for 13 overall from the line.

Central. Bree Mulhern deposited a pair of free throws with 8 seconds left in overtime to give Ridley a dramatic 50-46 win at Radnor.

The loss was the second of the season for Radnor (8-2), which received a game-high 18 points from Myonie Williamson.

Ridley (8-4) tied the game at the end of regulation on Shannon Clark's three-point basket with 8 seconds remaining. Clark was the Green Raiders' top scorer with 14 points.

Marple Newtown edged visiting Conestoga, 38-35, as Carley Hamilton had 13 rebounds and four blocks, and Madison Collins and Rylee Power each went 2 for 2 at the line in the final minute.

Tyra Polite's trio of three-point baskets combined with Kate Fitzpatrick's 16 points to boost Upper Darby past host Springfield (Delco), 37-28.

Catholic. Cardinal O'Hara, ranked No. 3 in Southeastern Pennsylvania by The Inquirer, rolled past host Little Flower, 64-22, with Lisa Mintzer's 12 points leading 11 Lions scorers.

Mary Ann Young came off the Archbishop Prendergast bench and snagged seven rebounds, and and Taylor Fitzgerald and Kerry Ann Farrell each had seven points and six assists to beat visiting Bishop McDevitt, 55-28.

Charlotte Kucowski scored all of her 10 points before intermission as St. Hubert sprinted past host West Catholic, 64-25.

Archbishop Ryan's Megan Wolf had up 16 points, 6 steals and 4 assists in a 54-34 win over visiting Conwell-Egan.

Tamyra Laws registered 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 steals, and Omawumi Rafiu added 15 points and 9 boards as Neumann-Goretti upended host Lansdale Catholic, 42-32.

Inter-Ac. Episcopal Academy's defense held host Agnes Irwin without a first-quarter field goal, and Megan Quinn led the offense with 14 points en route to a 34-23 win.

Catholic Academies. St. Basil's third straight win was a 46-44 thriller over visiting Villa Maria in which Erin Fenningham (17) and Molly Greenberg (10) combined for 11 rebounds.

Suburban One. Pennsbury ran off the first 16 points of a 57-26 win over visiting Truman. Sajanna Bethea had 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Sixth-ranked Cheltenham stayed perfect (11-0) with a 70-43 win at Norristown in which Ming Seawright snatched 14 rebounds, and Ciara Andrews had 21 points and 7 steals.

Neshaminy snapped a 10-10 halftime tie with a big second half and beat visiting William Tennent, 38-26. The Redskins' Meghan Schafer and Lori Paulits combined for 11 steals.

Amanda McAteer's 14 points was a career-high, aiding Upper Merion's 43-32 win over visiting Wissahickon.

Ches-Mont. Adaja Franklin dominated in the paint for West Chester Rustin, scoring 28 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking six shots as the Golden Knights topped host West Chester Henderson, 55-42.

Downingtown East escaped with a 50-49 victory at Avon Grove when Noelle Alicea (23) sank two foul shots with 2 seconds to play.

Del-Val. Janera Handy, a senior point guard, erupted for a career-high 33 points and Chester snapped a nine-game losing skid with a 59-56 win over visiting Academy Park.

Pioneer Athletic. Alexis Hewlett's fifth three-pointer of the game came in the final minute of Pottstown's 49-46 thriller at Owen J. Roberts.

Friends Schools. Imani Ross led Germantown Friends in scoring (15) and steals (6) in a 41-29 win over visiting Friends Select.

Steph Heys scored 14 of her 19 points in a 28-8 second half as George School doubled host Academy of the New Church, 48-24.

Swimming

Episcopal Academy's Emily Baturka set a school record at home, winning the 100-meter backstroke in 58.24 seconds in a 103-78 Inter-Ac League win over Agnes Irwin. Baturka, who also won the 50 freestyle, broke the mark of 58.35 set by Taylor Sneed last year.
