Tori Marcavage will be headed to Kutztown University soon, but the Perkiomen Valley pitcher is putting some nice finishing touches on her high school softball career.

On Friday, Marcavage pitched two complete games in helping the Vikings sweep a doubleheader, 3-1 and 4-2, against visiting Pope John Paul II.

It's not over yet, though, as Marcavage's performance assured the Vikings (12-7 overall, 12-6 league) of a playoff berth. She now has 503 career strikeouts, the first pitcher in school history to reach that number.

Host Pottsgrove rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat Liberty Division champion Owen J. Roberts, 3-2. Brandi Dickinson walked with the bases loaded to break a 2-2 tie and end the game.

Teammate Emily Miller paced an eight-hit attack with three of her own.

Catholic. Senior Day at Archbishop Carroll was a success as three seniors contributed in an 18-0 win over visiting Hallahan. Kristin Beaty pitched a three-inning no-hitter and third baseman Kaitlyn Quinn went 3 for 3 with classmate Caroline Stanley, a first baseman, going 2 for 2.

Central. Sammy Esque pitched a five-hitter and struck out 12 as Springfield (Delaware County) topped visiting Lower Merion, 5-0.

Ches-Mont. Downingtown West gave Casey Herring a three-run lead to work with in the first inning, and that was all she needed to pitch the Whippets past host Downingtown East, 3-2. Herring went the full seven innings and gave up only a pair of unearned runs.

Michelle Barr and Judy Reinhardt had two hits apiece for host Oxford in its 10-5 win over Kennett. The Hornets (13-5) got a leadoff home run in the sixth inning from Jill Freese.

Bicentennial. Amber Sesar pitched a four-inning one-hitter for host Morrisville in a 16-1 win over Phil-Mont Christian.

Casey Hollopeter, Kristen Jopko, Kim Steele, and Keavanna Lacey chipped in with two hits apiece for the Bulldogs (12-4, 10-3).

Nonleague. Keli Krause pitched a four-inning no-hitter for Christopher Dock in an 11-0 win over visiting Villa Joseph Marie. Holly Seiz paced the Pioneers' offense with a 3 for 3 day.

Gina Pellechio's two-out, bases-loaded, single in the bottom of the seventh broke a tie and gave host Norristown a 7-6 win over Central Bucks West.

Pellechio scored on a passed ball in the sixth inning to tie the game. Gabbie Berry had three hits for the Eagles.
