Wed. Pa. girls’ roundup: Radnor’s Margolis hits two slams

The two homers came in the fourth and fifth innings to turn a 5-0 lead into a rout.

Pioneer Athletic. Owen J. Roberts needed only three innings to clinch at least a tie for the Liberty Division in a 16-0 win over visiting Phoenixville.

The Wildcats (16-2 overall, 15-1 league) put the game away early with an 11-run first inning and Taylor Shultz took care of the rest with two-hit pitching over the four-inning game. They can clinch outright with a win on Thursday at Phoenixville.

Public. Brenda Nguyen pitched Central to a 14-4 win over visiting Edison.

Junior third baseman Jodelis Diaz went 3 for 5 with seven RBIs to lead Northeast past visiting Germantown, 20-11, earning a playoff date on Monday against Lincoln.

Lincoln got a 4-for-4 day from Angeline Baez in a 15-9 win over visiting Kensington.

Ches-Mont. Casey Herring pitched a five-hitter for Downingtown West as it beat visiting Bishop Shanahan, 2-0, avenging a loss earlier in the season.

Bicentennial. Host Christopher Dock took advantage of a pair of sixth-inning errors to break a tie and beat Bristol, 4-1.

Kiersten Cain, who gave up only two hits, was the hard-luck loser for the Warriors. Keli Krause scattered six hits over seven innings and picked up the win for the Pioneers (12-3 overall, 11-1 league).

Brooke Kauffman's single produced the fourth and fifth runs for host Delco Christian in its 5-4 win over Springfield (Montgomery County).

Nonleague. Host Germantown Academy posted a 13-run first inning on the way to a 16-1 pounding of Christian Academy. Elle McGraw went 3 for 3 to lead the Patriots (4-12).

Soccer

Rosy Henao scored three goals and assisted on the game-winner in the second overtime as Girls High beat visiting Masterman, 4-3, in a Public League match. Allison Shuster scored the final goal.

Henao has now posted a hat trick in three straight games.

Jessica Jastrzebski scored two minutes into overtime to give host Philadelphia Academy Charter a 1-0 win over Washington.

Maria Athanasiadis scored with 15 minutes left to give Bodine a 1-0 win at Douglas, clinching the B Division title.

Track and Field

At Lower Merion, the hosts' Eliana Yankelev won the 100-meter hurdles (14.7 seconds) and the high jump (5-foot-2) at the Central League championships. Upper Darby took two of the three relays. Radnor's Lydia Ali took both the 200 and 400, Alisa Fornwald won the triple jump, and Spring Gamble took the discus.
