Tues. Pa. girls' roundup: Peal's play lifts Abington

Peal initiated an 11-2 run to close out a 47-44 Suburban One National Conference win over visiting Council Rock South by scoring seven of her game-high 26 points. At the other end, she stole the ball with three seconds left to secure the win.

The Ghosts (12-7 overall, 9-2 league) trailed, 42-36, going into the fourth quarter.

Alex Wheatley's 15 points led the Golden Hawks.

Emily Grundman had 17 points for Council Rock North in its 63-23 win at Pennsbury. Devin Gold added 15 points for the Indians (16-0, 10-0).

Suburban One American. Upper Dublin got 15 points from Taylor Bryant, eight in the fourth quarter, of a 52-37 win at Norristown.

Suburban One Continental. Lauren Crisler scored 15 points and added 10 rebounds as North Penn won at Central Bucks South, 52-31.

Steph Knauer was the other Maiden who posted a double-double, with 12 points and 12 rebounds. North Penn is now 12-5, 8-2.

Catholic. Archbishop Carroll handed host St. Hubert its first league loss of the season, 63-35, as Emily Fazzini scored 14 points.

Inter-Ac. Ten players scored for host Episcopal Academy, led by Kristen Hinckley's 15 points, in a 69-25 win over Baldwin. Megan Quinn added 14 points for the Churchwomen.

Dee Thomas-Palmer scored 32 points for host Penn Charter in its 60-45 win over Agnes Irwin, whose Emily Wetz scored 19 points and knocked down five three-pointers.

Megan McGurk's 11 points, five rebounds and five assists helped host Notre Dame past Springside, 55-42.

Central. Jesse Porter scored 12 points and Lila Jones added 10 for Lower Merion in a 46-28 win at Springfield (Delaware County). The Aces benefited from a strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Cougars, 18-4.

Del-Val. Academy Park won at Chichester, 48-36, behind Moriah Smith's 16 points.

Bicentennial. Host Delco Christian got six steals from Emily Evans and 22 more from her teammates in a 53-17 win over MaST Charter.

Emily Homan led the Knights with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Taylor Koroncai's free throw with 1:30 left was the final point of the game for host Springfield (Montgomery County) in a 34-33 win over Lower Moreland.

The Lions made a free throw with 30 seconds left for the game's final point.

Phil-Mont Christian earned a 34-31 win at Bristol as Alena Steiger scored 15 points.

Kievanna Lacey's 22 points led host Morrisville past Girard College, 52-45.

Catholic Academies. Colie Woodill's steal and layup got overtime off to a good start for host St. Basil in a 47-41 win over Villa Maria.

The Panthers looked as if they were on the way to winning the game in regulation when Annisa Flores hit a three-pointer in the last minute to put St. Basil up by two, but Kellie O'Rourke's shot at the buzzer forced overtime.

Jill Lynch, a 5-10 senior, had 14 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Panthers (13-7, 9-3). Kellie O'Rourke had 12 points to lead the Hurricanes.

Junior guard Maddie Kohler knocked down four three-pointers for her 12 points to lead host Mount St. Joseph past Sacred Heart, 46-29.

The Magic (18-1, 11-0) also got 11 points, four steals and four assists from Mary Jo Horgan.

Friends Schools. Host Germantown Friends scored the first 10 points of the second half on the way to a 33-24 win over Westtown. The Tigers (9-4) got seven points from Julya Loder in the third quarter and she finished with a game-high 22 points.

Temple-bound senior point guard Monaye Merritt scored 26 points to lead host Friends' Central past Abington Friends, 53-39.

Tri-County. Teharah Worrell scored 11 points to lead Mercy Vocational to a 27-20 win at Collegium.

The Monarchs closed out the game with a 9-2 run after the teams were tied going into the final quarter.

Nonleague. At its Juniata Boys' Club home court, Unique Harris, a 5-foot-7 junior, had 18 points and 15 rebounds for host Maritime Academy in its 46-30 win over City Center. Mylika Flacka added 15 points for the Seadogs (6-3).

Sam Luglio scored 11 points and added five rebounds in her first varsity start for host Interboro in its 48-29 win over New Beginnings. The Bucs (7-6) were led by Olivia Encarnacion's 15 points.
