The game was played at Imhotep Charter, part of that school's annual Martin Luther King Classic.

Riddick's three, with nine seconds left, gave the Mighty Elephants (11-3) the lead for good. He finished with 15 points, while teammate Thomas Moore chipped in with 10.

Muhammad Amin and Quentin Davis each had eight rebounds to lead Math, Civics and Sciences.

Aquil Younger led Simon Gratz with 21 points. The Bulldogs also got 15 from Bruce Hanner and 10 from Andrew Moye.

Also in the MLK Classic:

Jordan Mack hit a three-pointer with three seconds left to give Del-Val Charter a 52-50 win over Sankofa Freedom.

Mack finished with 15 points to lead the Warriors, who also got 10 points from Heleaince Gates.

Sankofa Freedom got 11 points apiece from Donell Jarmon and Anthony Wright-Downing and rallied for a 50-49 lead with eight seconds left, outscoring the Warriors, 11-9, in the final quarter.

Malik Smith had five steals for Del-Val Charter.

Hoophall Classic. At the Blake Arena at Springfield (Mass.) College, Boys' and Girls' High (N.Y.) rallied to beat Academy of the New Church, 47-45, in overtime.

Antione Slaughter's running one-hander in the final 2.1 seconds left in overtime gave the Kangaroos (15-3) the lead for good. The Lions (12-3) led by 16 points one minute into the fourth quarter.

The game was televised on ESPN2. Academy of the New Church's Rakeem Christmas misfired on a shot that would have won it at the buzzer.

ESPN.com ranked Boys and Girls No. 36 in the nation coming into the game, with Academy of the New Church ranked No. 75.

Girls' Basketball

Fueled by seven-point first quarter by Lindsay Fluehr, Nazareth Academy opened with a 20-3 run in a 51-38 Association of Catholic Academies win at Sacred Heart.

Fluehr finished with 13 points to lead the Pandas (10-5 overall, 5-3 league). Danielle Gasperi added 12 points.

Sacred Heart's Jayni Webster, a junior guard, took game-high honors with 14 points. Ashley Adams had nine rebounds for the Pandas.

Jill Lynch had 21 points and 12 rebounds for host St. Basil in a 50-37 win over Villa Joseph Marie. Jackie Thompson added 14 points and 10 assists for the Panthers (9-6, 5-2).

Catholic. Host Cardinal O'Hara overwhelmed Bishop McDevitt, 55-14, behind Marissa Manning's 12 points. Eleven players scored for the Lions (11-2).

Nonleague. Despite Brittany Hrynko's 21 points, Engineering and Science lost to host Gil St. Bernard (N.J.), 64-58.

Hrynko reached a milestone in the loss, becoming the Engineers' all-time leader scorer with 1,333 points. The previous leader was Aquisha Kehoe with 1,316.

Dahne Brown-Boyer added 15 points and Monique Whaley-Briggs scored 10 for the Engineers, who were coming off a buzzer-beating win over Abington on Saturday.
