The Pennsylvania team for the Big 33 Football Classic has been announced, and almost one-quarter of the players are from Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Eight of the 34 players selected for the annual game, which pits Pennsylvania against Ohio, are from PIAA Districts 1 and 12, led by Jamal Abdur-Rahman, the La Salle running back/defensive back named last month as The Inquirer's Southeastern Pennsylvania player of the year.

Abdur-Rahman, a Villanova recruit, carried the ball 224 times for 1,755 yards - a single-season school record - and 24 touchdowns this past season. On defense, he had four interceptions.

Also named to the roster were Radnor offensive lineman Dave Bowen, Conestoga receiver Dexter Bridge, Pottsgrove quarterback/defensive back Terrell Chestnut, West Catholic running back/defensive back Brandon Hollomon, Downingtown East receiver Tyler Kroft, Neshaminy linebacker Corey Majors, and Penn Wood two-way end Shawn Oakman.

The 2011 Big 33 game is scheduled for June 18. Ohio won last year's matchup, 18-15.
