South Jersey football roundup: Millville avoids scare, stays undefeated
Millville scores the last 28 points in comeback victory over Atlantic City to stay undefeated.
Clayton Scott rushed for the go-ahead score late in the third quarter Friday to lift undefeated Millville over Atlantic City, 34-12. The Thunderbolts overcame two turnovers and two more turnovers on downs. Carlton Lawrence added a rushing touchdown and an interception. Elijah Nichols connected with Marcial Ramos twice in the fourth quarter. Millville scored 28 unanswered points to close the game to move to 8-0.

Pennsville 34, Glassboro 16. Nick Bard rushed for scores of 30, 4, 74, and 59 yards in the Eagles' defeat of the Bulldogs. Shaun Brooks caught the only non-rushing touchdown from Brandon Morris on a fourth-and-7.

Absegami 34, Mainland 27. Andrew Marucci threw touchdowns passes to Jonte Jones and Joshua Coursey in the Braves' win. Coursey added a 23-yard TD run and an interception with left than two minutes left to seal the victory.

Shawnee 38, Hammonton 6. Colin Wetterau threw touchdown passes to John Dias and Jake Schillinger as the Renegades defeated the Blue Devils. Ryan Parris returned an interception for a touchdown. Shawnee's playoff push begins Nov. 10 after finishing 5-3.

Gateway 44, Haddon Heights 8. Derrick Parker scored on a 77-yard touchdown run as the Gators rolled over the Garnets. Kyle Albeser rushed for scores 9 and 26 yards and had a 49-yard run that set up Jared Clayton's 1-yard plunge. Matt Goetz threw a touchdown pass to Evan Wilkinson to open the scoring. Gateway held a 20-0 lead at halftime, and will host a playoff game for the first time in school history.

Lenape 48, Notre Dame (N.J.) 0. JoJo Kellum had four first-half rushing touchdowns as the Indians dominated the Irish. Matt Lajoie delivered a 35-yard touchdown pass to Amir Byrd and rushed for another 12-yard score.

Cinnaminson 50, Bordentown 7. Rashad Raymond piled up 183 first-half yards and three touchdowns in the Pirates' win. Shawn Ruffin punched in a 1-yard score and threw a 71-yard touchdown pass to Mark Ruiz. Ruiz compiled 107 receiving yards in the first half. AJ Torres scampered for a 55-yard score for the Pirates.

Holy Cross 44, Delran 8. Tim Petrucelli tallied four rushing scores, including one of 65 yards, to propel the Lancers over the Bears. The Lancers outscored the Bears 28-0 in the second half. Jack Fusco and Matt Paolini each added a 1-yard plunge.
