Uh-oh, they live in Millville but play for St. Augustine

Zeke Ennis says he will try not to be "overzealous." He knows that will be difficult. Josh Zamot says he will try to treat it as "just another game."

He knows that will be difficult.

Josh Zamot says he will try to treat it as "just another game."

He knows that might be imppossible.

For Ennis, Zamot and fellow St. Augustine Prep football standout Shamere Collins, Friday's game at Millville represents more than just a clash of undefeated Top 15 teams and a battle for the top spot in the West Jersey Football League Continental Division.

It's also a homecoming game for that talented trio as all three live in Millville and participated in youth sports with many of the Millville players.

"Clayton Scott is my best friend," Ennis said of Millville's standout running back and linebacker.

St. Augustine Prep is 3-0 and No. 1 in The Inquirer Top 25 thanks in large part to the work of Ennis, Zamot and Collins, among many others.

The dynamic Ennis, a senior who makes plays as a wide receiver and defensive back and also on special teams, has scored four touchdowns.

Zamot, a junior, had made a major impact as the team's first-year starting quarterback. He has run for five touchdowns and passed for five.

Collins, a junior, is a top defensive back. He picked off two passes in Friday's 48-10 victory over then-No. 11 Williamstown, returning one 27 yards for a touchdown.

"It's going to be a big game for all of us," Ennis said. "But we have to try not to be overzealous and try to treat it as a business trip."

Ennis and Zamot said they have been hearing from Millville players since the schedule was released last winter.

"I know it's going to mean a lot to go back there and play," Zamot said. "But I also know I have to try to look at it as just another game.

"It's motivation. It's motivation for both sides. But you try to stay focused and play your game no matter who you are playing against."

Millville is 2-0 and No. 14 in the rankings. The Thunderbolts have not allowed a point, with Scott and fellow linebacker Zack Douglass leading the way.

"I'm going to play like I don't even know him," Ennis said of Scott. "He's going to play like he doesn't even know me. We're going to compete, compete, compete for four quarters, and then we'll walk off the field as friends."
