S. Jersey Boys: S.J. boys: RV fends off Holy Cross in OT

Luis Rivadeneira took a headed pass from John Weeast, broke through a pair of defenders, and netted a 25-yard shot Tuesday in double overtime to give Rancocas Valley a 3-2 win over Holy Cross in a Burlington County League soccer game.

The senior got the host Red Devils, the third-ranked team in South Jersey by The Inquirer, on the board late in the first half. In the second half, Rivadeneira assisted Matt Hannan to put RV ahead, 2-0.

Mat Shaddow scored twice for Holy Cross, including the tying goal with less than eight minutes remaining off an assist from Connor Reilly.

RV made 12 saves, nine by Dylan Mohan and three by Joey Stellweg.

In another Burlington County League game, Brad Forman scored to give Northern Burlington a 1-0 win at Cinnaminson.

Olympic. Ishmael Bokai scored and had two assists in No. 7 Cherry Hill West's 3-0 shutout at Lenape. Nick Krake recorded a goal and an assist. Joseph Poole also scored.

Cross-Country

Mike Ungvarsky finished the 3.1-mile race at New Egypt in 16 minutes, 32 seconds to help Cinnaminson clinch its third straight Burlington County Patriot title. The Pirates beat Medford Tech (23-34), Holy Cross (17-44), Bordentown (17-45), and Pemberton (15-45).
