The two teams had been battling on Ocean City's field for 95 minutes when the St. Augustine goalkeeper looked to clear the ball.

The ball didn't make it there. Aaron King, charging in for the Red Raiders, blocked the attempt.

The junior scored past the sliding goalie to give the Red Raiders a 2-1 victory in double overtime in a Cape-Atlantic American boys' soccer game Wednesday.

With one minute left in regulation, it looked as if Collin Noble's first-half goal would be the decisive one for Ocean City. But Matt Heist scored for the Hermits off an assist from Nate Bledsoe to tie the score.

The Red Raiders' Russell Lindsey made seven saves to earn the win.

Tri-County Royal. Justin Curtin and Vince DeMatteo scored first-half goals to send Williamstown to a 2-1 win at Clearview. Ismail Kaya had two assists.

Girls' Soccer

Kept fairly busy, Destini Curry held her own in net. The Deptford goalie registered nine saves in a 3-1 Tri-County Diamond win over host Glassboro.

Lisa Childress netted a pair of goals. Ashley Shisler also scored.

Kendyl Tranchina struck for the Bulldogs' lone goal, off an assist from Lyndsey Vito. Ashley Rey recorded five saves.

Field Hockey

Delran picked up its second win of the season, behind a shutout performance by Morgan Miller. The junior made 12 saves to blank New Egypt at home, 2-0, in a Burlington County Patriot game.

Colonial Patriot. Regan Dougherty scored three of Haddon Township's four first-half goals to lead the Hawks over visiting Woodbury, 4-0.

The game was called at halftime but ruled a Hawks win.

College commitment. Eastern junior Madison Marano, a midfielder, committed to Penn State.
