Thurs. S.J. girls' roundup: Cinnaminson wins on Scott's late goal

Morgan Scott's fifth goal of the match, off a feed from Carleigh MacWilliams with seven seconds left in regulation, enabled host Cinnaminson to outscore Kingsway, 16-15, on Thursday in nonleague girls' lacrosse.

MacWilliams finished with three goals and three assists, and Scott and Chelsea McDowell (3 goals) added two assists apiece.

Pirates goalie Alexa Rocks made 15 saves.

Paige Helm had six goals to lead the Dragons.

In another nonleague matchup, Maple Shade ran out to a 16-4, first-half lead and went on to down host Gateway, 24-5.

Allie Vallen had a game-high four goals and Lizzy Kerr contributed three goals and three assists for the Wildcats, who received hat tricks from five players.

Ali Summers tripled, homered, and drove in two runs to send Camden Catholic to a 4-2 victory at Shawnee in a meeting between division leaders in the Olympic Conference.

Winning pitcher Susan Wysocki struck out 13 and limited the Renegades to three singles and one walk.

Stephanie Josepayt picked up two RBIs in Triton's four-run ninth inning, and Brielle Reighn (3 for 5, 2 RBIs) shut out host Cherokee over the final eight innings to earn a 5-1 win.

Sophomore shortstop Sierra Machinski batted 3 for 3, scored twice, and knocked in a pair of runs, and senior first baseman Alyssa Garcia added two hits and three RBIs in powering host Cherry Hill West past Timber Creek, 8-3.

Burlington County. New Egypt took a commanding lead in the Patriot Division by handing visiting Florence its first loss, 8-2.

Sam Beckett got the Warriors going with a two-run single in the first, and Krysta Plummer added three RBIs in support of winning pitcher Alison Martino (9-1).

Alexis Gaskill (2 for 3, 4 RBIs) and Victoria Byrd (3 for 3, 3 RBIs) had the hot bats for Rancocas Valley in a 13-2 romp past visiting Northern Burlington.

Nicole Sheppard pitched a one-hit shutout and Robin Antozzeski keyed host Bordentown's 16-hit assault, supplying four hits, five RBIs, and two runs in a 10-0 triumph over Cinnaminson.

Maple Shade manufactured a pair of runs in the top of the 10th inning and then held on to edge host Moorestown, 3-2. Brittany Granahan had three of the Wildcats' five hits off of losing pitcher Audrey Heller (14 strikeouts).

Madinah Cathcart-Rowe had a home run and a single in two at-bats, scored twice, and plated three runs for host Westampton Tech, which needed just three innings to dispatch Trenton Catholic, 19-1.

Cape-Atlantic. Taylor Rizzotte, Morgan Neilson, and Raelynn Genovese combined for seven of Hammonton's 10 hits, and the host Blue Devils scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to rally past Vineland, 4-3.

Raquelle Rusciano and Jillian Bruno each drove in a pair of runs, and Pauline Rusciano scored three times, as host Mainland made the most of its six hits in putting away Lower Cape May, 11-3.

Nonleague. Shayla Sweeney fanned a dozen GCIT batters, and her RBI single in the fifth inning provided enough cushion for Haddon Heights to hold on for a 3-2 home victory.

Lenape unleashed a 14-hit barrage, scoring five runs in the second inning and four in the seventh, in leveling host Holy Cross, 11-2.
