Wed. S.J. girls' roundup: Quick start boosts Bishop Eustace

Bishop Eustace made quick work of Camden, with Taylor Hudspeth tossing in 21 points and Jackie Browne scoring 11 of her 19 in a game-opening 22-3 spree, as the host Crusaders coasted, 66-24, on Wednesday in an Olympic Conference National Division girls' basketball game.

Marissa McCorkel extended her shooting range far from the basket, draining seven three-pointers in scoring 25 for host Lower Cape May, which built a 30-point lead and then withstood a furious rally to defeat Millville, 60-55. Ashli Weems scored 24 for the Thunderbolts, who closed out the game on a 25-10 run.

Nonleague. Lauren Whelan led the way with 19 points, including 15 in a 25-11 first-half blitz that proved enough for host Cumberland to edge Wildwood Catholic, 39-35.

Kelyn Sequeira (11 points) and Jennifer Ventura (10) paced Pennsauken Tech, which jumped on top early and held on to defeat Overbrook, 37-33. The Rams' Joann Bodanza had a game-high 14 points.

Palmyra spread the wealth on offense, getting double-figure scoring from Sierra Forman (16 points), Moriah Best (13), Dystinee Perkins (12), and Tiffany Jeffries (11) in a 59-41 rout of visiting LEAP Academy Charter.

Host Woodrow Wilson pounded Paulsboro, 72-31, behind the trio of Kamari Talley (20 points, 12 rebounds, 4 steals), Chanelle Perry (20 points, 6 steals, 5 assists), and Kimberly Roy (11 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals).

Jada Matthews pumped in 21 points, Gabby Brown netted 15, and Morgan Harris knocked down a key three-pointer late to allow host Paul VI to close out Burlington Township, 54-46. Alicia Bradley had 16 points for the Falcons.
