The 6-foot-5 junior is almost two different players in two seasons, but equally effective in each.

For Camden Catholic, he is more of an inside player and a difficult one to stop. Last season, he averaged 20.1 points and 8.5 rebounds and earned Inquirer third-team all-South Jersey honors.

During the summer while playing AAU basketball, Green switches to the backcourt as a combination guard. It gives him a chance to show his perimeter game, which is also deadly. No wonder it's been estimated that more than 25 colleges have already been in contact.

"All summer, I was playing outside and shooting a lot of jump shots, but now with Camden Catholic, I am doing a lot of inside stuff," he said. "It is an adjustment."

The biggest adjustment is opposing defenses trying to stop Green. Last season was his first year as a starter, and as Green began to hit the 20-point mark routinely, teams started double-teaming and sometimes triple-teaming him.

It didn't stop him from scoring, but sometimes it was challenging just to get the ball.

"Coach [Jim] Crawford does a really good job of changing things up, adjusting and helping me get into a good position to score," Green said.

This season, the Irish are in what might be the most competitive division in South Jersey - the Olympic National, where Bishop Eustace is the favorite, followed by Paul VI.

"We want to win 20 games and compete with Bishop Eustace, Paul VI, and the other great teams on our schedule," Green said. "Right now, we are under the radar, but I have liked how our team looks."
