Williamstown takes volleyball title

Williamstown's dominance in volleyball continued this season as the Braves claimed their 11th consecutive division championship in the Olympic Conference with a 25-17, 25-12 win over visiting Clearview on Monday.

The Braves' (20-1) balanced attack included Christina Barclay's five kills, Meg Kinee's eight digs, Idi Uffen's seven kills and three blocks, Kat Wolf's 22 assists and Ali Barclay's six digs.

Williamstown clinched the Patriot Division crown.

Soccer

Shawnee dominated a meeting of Top 10 soccer teams, dealing No. 4 Washington Township a 5-0 Olympic Conference interdivision loss at Shawnee.

Ariana Gerber scored three goals, Kristen Niedrach and Gianna Pizoli added single goals, and goalie Lindsay Dougherty made three saves for the the Renegades, ranked No. 8 in South Jersey by The Inquirer.

Cherry Hill West's Bridget Hicks headed in a corner kick by Meghan Dumser in the 60th minute to beat host Timber Creek, 1-0.

Burlington County. Delran's defense allowed no shots at goalie Katie Larson, and the Bears wrapped up the Patriot Division championship with a 7-0 win over visiting Burlington City. Brooke Sweezy scored twice among six Delran scorers.

Palmyra rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit and beat visiting Florence, 2-1, with Hannah Boatwright getting the winning goal with 27 minutes left from Mady Calhoun's assist.

Unassisted goals by Samantha Pagnani and Kaylee Creegan delivered Bordentown's 2-1 triumph over visiting Maple Shade.

Tri-County. Clayton got a goal from Jewel Brown with 26 minutes left and managed a 1-1 draw against visiting Classic Division leader Schalick. Clippers goalie Danni Cowgill made 15 saves, allowing only a first-half goal by Nikki Adams.

Kingsway's Gabby Campbell scored off a corner kick by Kellyann Burns with 18 minutes left to beat visiting Clearview, 1-0. Dragons goalie Maria Kirby made 11 saves and Campbell's goal was the only one scored in two games between the teams this fall.

Colonial. West Deptford goalie Alicia Barger made two saves in posting her eighth shutout this fall, 4-0, at Sterling. Jamie Cary, Regina Kelly, Danielle McKeown and Jordan Stanek scored a goal apiece.

Nonleague. Julie Spraklin's two goals made Rancocas Valley a 2-1 winner at Cherokee.

Danica Pratta's two goals and Venice Hill's 14 saves helped Penns Grove win its second game, 4-2 at Overbrook.

Seneca stifled visiting Ocean City, 3-0, behind goals from Paige Chladek, Stephanie Kowalewski and JoHanna Metzger.

Field Hockey

Gateway's Alyssa Blemmings scored unassisted, and Haddon Township's Kim Flacco scored off an Olivia Duca assist causing a 1-1 Colonial Conference standoff at Haddon Township.

Amanda Hojnowski and Claudia Theriault scored after halftime as West Deptford rallied to beat visiting Haddon Heights, 2-1, in overtime.

Olympic. Tara Vittese scored her second goal of the game with 4:12 left in overtime as Camden Catholic clipped visiting Shawnee, 3-2.

Kristen Morawski and Erica McDonough assisted each other's goals as Paul VI notched its 10th win, 4-0, over visiting Triton.

Tri-County. Liz Mitten scored three goals off assists by Jordan Kugler, highlighting Woodstown's 6-0 triumph at Williamstown.

Cape-Atlantic. Holy Spirit needed Kiersten Stone's goal off a corner by Katie Blanchet 2 minutes into overtime to escape from Lower Cape May with a 1-0 win. Spartans goalie Alix Hesley made 14 saves for her ninth shutout.

Nonleague. Haddonfield edged host Moorestown, 3-2, with a goal apiece from Megan Johnston, Allie Nugent and Cat Thomas.

St. Joseph's 12th win was a 4-1 verdict over visiting Pitman in which Emily DeMarco, Marissa Moreno, Molly Mullee and Gina Smith scored goals.
