S. Jersey Boys: Pitman rallies to beat Eustace, 5-4

Eustace (4-4) scored four runs in the second inning off winning pitcher Mike McIlvaine to set the stage for Pitman's comeback.

Matt Ennis gave the Panthers (8-0) three shutout innings in relief of McIlvaine.

In other nonleague action, Holy Cross leftfielder Kyle Semmel hit a pair of three-run homers and designated hitter Frank Lazar hit his first career home run during a 13-3 win at Camden Catholic.

Riverside shortstop Tim Borek doubled twice and boosted his career hit total to 99 as the Rams beat Raritan, 6-2, at Trenton's Waterfront Park. Winning pitcher Jacob Reeder threw 32/3 innings and also knocked in two runs.

Grand Slam Classic. Millville advanced with a 12-0 shutout of Williamstown at Washington Lake Park. Andrew Biggs pitched 42/3 innings of the one-hitter, striking out 11 and also hitting a pair of two-run homers.

Cherokee will be the Thunderbolts' semifinal opponent after beating Haddon Township, 18-9, in a game that included a total of 35 hits. The Chiefs' Shane Garrett hit a three-run homer and a bases-empty home run in a 4-for-6, six-RBI effort, and the Hawks' Mike Byrnes launched a grand slam.

At Washington Township, Buena was outhit by 4-3 but used the solid pitching of Bill Jackson and reliever Anthony Lopez to claim a 3-0 win over Audubon. Jackson also doubled and combined with Lopez for seven strikeouts.

Mingo Bay Classic. Paul VI whipped Carvers Bay (S.C.), 14-2, at Myrtle Beach with three RBIs each by John McAuley and Tyler Keen.

Burlington County. Frank Shallow's long double to left field with the bases loaded plated three runs and aided Cinnaminson's 10-0 victory over visiting Westampton Tech. Clinton Hart struck out eight.

Vince Vasapoli's two-run double in the top of the eighth inning provided the winning margin for Burlington City in a 6-4 win at Pemberton. The Blue Devils' Pete Perez poked four singles.

Tri-County. In its first game after playing four contests in Las Vegas, Gloucester Catholic stifled host Pennsville, 7-0, on Cody Brown's three-hit pitching. John Brue hit a three-run homer and Pat Kane went 4 for 5 with a double and two runs scored.

Colonial. Overbrook avenged a 10-5 loss suffered five days earlier by beating host Haddonfield, 4-2. Kevin Fought scattered four hits for the win and Alex Parisi homered and scored twice.

Cape-Atlantic. St. Augustine beat visiting Egg Harbor Township, 10-3, with two RBIs each by Anthony Cocuzza and Kevin Baxter, and Ed Charlton's six innings pitched, two hits and two runs scored.
