Thurs. S.J. boys’ roundup: Haddonfield edges Gateway

The Bulldogs had leads of 3-0 and 4-2, but Gateway rallied to tie the score with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Bhaya also scored a run and stole two bases before delivering his walk-off hit.

Also in the Colonial, Kevin Kramer struck out 10 in five innings, dominating Audubon's 14-1 win at Overbrook. Keith Michalski homered, and Brian Flacco drove in four runs as the Green Wave finally opened their season.

David Triplett's three hits and three RBIs combined with Daniel Triplett's two hits and two RBIs to fuel Woodbury's 6-1 win over visiting Collingswood.

Haddon Township pushed across four third-inning runs to make a winner of pitcher Dustin Smith, 5-3, at Sterling.

Olympic. Nick Tierno poked a pair of hits and scored three runs, and Matt Lawson scored four time for Eastern en route to a 13-5 win over visiting Winslow Township.

Pennsauken outslugged visiting Triton, 17-16, as Alex Polanco had two singles, a triple, and a grand slam for seven RBIs.

Tom DaMour tossed six innings of four-hit baseball to get the pitching win as Cherokee clipped host Lenape, 3-2.

Burlington County. Riverside's 10-0 win over visiting Trenton Catholic was a three-hit shutout by Dustin Cahill. Eric Nevadunsky and Tim Borek scored three runs apiece.

Jake DeWitt fanned 14 Maple Shade batters in six innings and reliever Heath Fillmyer completed the two-hit shutout as host Florence prevailed, 2-0. T.J. Karwowski lined a two-run single in the fifth.

Joe Gutowski doubled and also handled the pitching with eight strikeouts in five innings as Bordentown edged visiting Cinnaminson, 6-5.

Home runs off the bats of John Michnick, Dylan Waller, and Dallas Clark powered Moorestown's 6-3 win at Burlington Township. Andrew Lisa chipped in with three hits and a run batted in.

Billy Raab gave up only two singles to Palmyra's Zamel Robinson while pitching host New Egypt's 14-1 win. Mike DeAnni went 3 for 3, and Taylor Steen and Rigo Morfin had two RBIs apiece.

Tri-County. Clayton's Kyle Gaff and Joe Collins each hit two-run homers while steering Gloucester to its first win, 10-7, at Clayton.

Cape-Atlantic. Cory Dick doubled with one out in the top of the seventh inning, driving in winning pitcher Rick Elfreth with what proved to be the game-winning run in St. Augustine's 6-5 verdict at Lower Cape May.

Oakcrest's Sean Carberry threw a six-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts, and Cody Stashak (six RBIs) hit a grand slam amid Oakcrest's 11-0 win at St. Joseph.

Unbeaten Millville (3-0) blanked visiting Absegami, 2-0, with a three-hit shutout by Andrew Biggs.

Nonleague. Brandon Triantos pitched a two-hit shutout, and Chris Repice had two hits and two RBIs for Sacred Heart in a 10-0 win over visiting Atlantic Christian.

Lacrosse

Lenape's defense held visiting Cherokee to a goal in each half of a 7-2 victory. Reed Hoffman led the offense with three goals.

Rancocas Valley rallied from a 4-2 deficit to force overtime and claimed a 5-4 victory at New Egypt. Connor Ryan scored three goals, and Colin McDonald assisted on two for the Red Devils.
