Before last fall's soccer season, Gloucester Catholic senior Korrie Harkins committed to Division I St. Peter's. But after a coaching change at the college, she decided to look at other options.

Recently, Harkins decided to attend the College of New Jersey, which competes in Division III.

Last season, Harkins was an Inquirer second-team all-South Jersey selection after scoring 22 goals. She joins a College of New Jersey team that advanced to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals before losing to Johns Hopkins. The Lions finished 18-3 and participated in the NCAA tournament for the 20th consecutive season.

"I always wanted to play Division I, but I was kind of torn about it," Harkins said. "In the end, the College of New Jersey has a great program, a winning tradition and I liked the coach, the team, and all it had to offer academically."
