The unbeaten Hermits (16-0), ranked No. 1 in South Jersey by The Inquirer, defeated visiting Egg Harbor Township, 84-44, in the Cape-Atlantic League as Morton scored 20 points among 13 Hermits scorers. Rahim Bunch had 19 for the Eagles.

Morton, a 5-foot-8 senior who will attend Marist in the fall, reached the milestone on a short jumper off a spin move in the lane. He is the third South Jersey boy this season and second this week to reach 2,000 points. Pitman's Luke Dickson scored his 2,000th on Feb. 1, and Cherry Hill East's Chris Santo accomplished it on Jan. 11.

Colonial. Will Stallworth dropped in 14 points, and Tyler Clark and Vince Rivera added 10 apiece to help offset a 27-point game by Audubon's T.J. Tassi and help visiting Sterling prevail, 60-50.

Olympic. Cherry Hill East's Jake Gurkin scored 18 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and picked off seven steals as the Cougars beat host Seneca, 77-32. East made 25 of 36 shots from two-point range (69 percent), including Chris Santo's perfect 9-for-9 in a 31-point effort.

Bishop Eustace bolted to a 20-8 lead and knocked off host Timber Creek, 60-45. Carson Puriefoy (20) and Trevor Norton (16) scored seven points each in the opening period.

Fifth-ranked Paul VI claimed a 72-50 win over visiting Eastern with Rob Poole's 26 points, Ron Curry's 11 assists, and Roosevelt Cubbage's 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Burlington County. Manan Desai scored eight of his 19 points in a 23-8 first-quarter spree, igniting Florence's 76-41 win over visiting Maple Shade.

Tri-County. Ervin Johnson's 13 points steered Clearview past host Clayton, 46-36. For the Clippers, Percell Downes collected 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Cape-Atlantic. Atlantic City saw a 26-12 halftime lead cut to two points after three periods, but Jaleem Montague (13) and Dayshawn Reynolds had six points each in the fourth quarter to preserve a 56-45 win at Vineland.

Nonleague. Overbrook's Dan Wilson capped a 27-point performance by scoring eight fourth-quarter points as the Rams topped host Pennsauken Tech, 66-53. Tech senior guard Pedro Jiminez scored a career-best 23 points.

Wrestling

Cherokee wrapped up the Olympic Conference American Division championship with a 47-20 win at Eastern.

The Chiefs, ranked No. 5, piled up a 32-0 lead with pins by unbeaten Ben Fanjoy in the opening bout at 160 pounds, Paul Sims (171 pounds) and Jeremy Reese (189).

Colonial. Third-ranked Paulsboro cruised past visiting Sterling, 64-9, as John Gentile outlasted Griffin Donnelly, 12-11, at 112 pounds, and Anthony Dawson had a 46-second pin at 160.
