Thurs. S.J. boys’ roundup: Collingswood survives Woodbury challenge

Woodbury (1-5) led by 36-28 at intermission as Paul Hughes topped four Herd players in double figures in the game with 21 points.

Collingswood (5-2) rallied behind Waller's 29-point performance and 18 points from B. J. Jones.

Also in the Colonial, Overbrook trailed by a point entering the fourth quarter, but fashioned a 23-10 run with 11 points by point guard James Bullock (18) and defeated visiting Audubon, 59-47. Junior forward Dominic Mapp had a season-high 12 rebounds for the Rams, and Audubon's T. J. Tassi deposited 28 points.

Inspired by a 33-point first quarter, Haddonfield sprinted past visiting Gateway, 99-43. Wyatt Polk scored 23 points among 11 scorers for the Bulldogs, who hit nine threes.

Tyler Clark netted 14 points and Jerry Crismond had a pair of three-pointers while boosting Sterling past visiting Haddon Township, 51-41.

Burlington County. Senior guard David Coulanges converted both ends of a one-and-one with three seconds left in overtime to make Burlington Township a 58-57 winner over visiting Rancocas Valley.

Coulanges led the Falcons (6-2) with 22 points and Jalon Wilson had 16, including a key three-pointer late in overtime. Rancocas (5-3), ranked No. 6 in South Jersey by The Inquirer, got 17 points from Kenny Johnson.

Fifth-ranked Cinnaminson also needed overtime to secure a win, edging visiting Medford Tech, 74-68. Max DiLeo (28) made 9 of 11 foul shots in OT, and Napolean Blamon (26) forced overtime with one free throw with 8 seconds left in regulation.

B. J. Gordon (12) and Ja'Quan Cummings (10) combined for 13 points in a 22-12 first quarter that ignited Pemberton's 54-42 success at Moorestown.

Mark Pryzbylkowski made seven of eight three-point shots in a career-high 33-point effort that highlighted New Egypt's 56-47 win over visiting Florence, which (5-1) suffered its first loss.

Northern Burlington outscored host Holy Cross by 9-4 in overtime and grabbed a 63-58 win. Mike Kodia (13) had six points in the extra period, and the Lancers' Lloyd Smith collected 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Olympic. Joe Bodnar connected on a trio of three-pointers in a 23-10 first-quarter outburst and finished with 16 points as Shawnee topped host Triton, 74-56. Matt Chiusano led the No. 2 Renegades with 28 points.

Timber Creek's second win was a 57-47 triumph at Cherry Hill West in which Mikal Demby (21) and Sameen Swint (13) fueled the Chargers' offense. West's Rodney Williams posted 10 points and six rebounds.

Carson Puriefoy's 25 points steered Bishop Eustace past host Seneca, 59-48.

After scoring just four first-half points, Richard Smith had 13 after intermission, guiding Winslow Township from a one-point halftime lead to a 63-43 win over visiting Pennsauken.

Tri-County. Highland's Tyree Brown had an 11-point, 13-rebound double-double during the Tartans' 39-23 win over visiting Delsea. Donte McNeil snagged 11 boards.

Eighth-rated Kingsway sailed past visiting Cumberland, 79-45, as Rondell Gilmore's 18 points and Kyler Grigsby's 14 topped five Dragons in double figures.

Woody Furbush led Salem in scoring with 35 points and rebounding with 15 boards, topping Wildwood's Francis Christian (26) for game scoring honors and pacing the host Rams to an 84-66 win.

Unbeaten Penns Grove (7-0) cruised past visiting Glassboro, 81-39, behind Ge'Shawn Davis' 20 points, Malcolm Chase's 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Ky Brown's eight steals.

Christian Klumpp chalked up 17 points and nine rebounds, Josh Arroyo added 12 points and 12 boards, and Percell Downes had 13 rebounds to Clayton's 55-43 win over visiting Pennsville.

Cape-Atlantic. Christian Mortellite saved 16 of his game-high 21 points for the second half as Hammonton pulled away from visiting Mainland for a 56-40 win.

In a game that was stopped with 4:14 remaining, fourth-ranked Middle Township dealt visiting Cape May Tech a 79-35 setback. Garrett Kerr led a dozen Panthers scorers with 23 points.
