This is familiar territory for the Haddonfield girls' tennis team.

This also is new ground for the Bulldogs.

Haddonfield, the No. 1 seed, plays fourth-seeded Red Bank Catholic Tuesday at noon in the semifinals of the Tournament of Champions at Inman Sports Club in Edison.

Second-seeded Westfield plays third-seeded Millburn in the other semifinal. The championship match is Thursday at 4 p.m.

Haddonfield (31-0) won the T of C in 2009. But this year is different.

"We used to be the hunters. Now we're the hunted," Haddonfield senior No. 3 singles player Spencer Ng said. "We know we have to play to win instead of playing not to lose."

Red Bank Catholic, the Non-Public A state champion, beat Non-Public B champion Newark Academy, 4-1, in Sunday's quarterfinals.

Red Bank Catholic is strong in singles with No. 1 Dena Tanenbaum, No. 2 singles Rocine Moschella and No. 3 Jenna Pellegrino.

Haddonfield has relied on its balance all season.

Sophomore No. 1 singles Taylor Ng has a 37-3 record. Senior No. 2 singles Martha Theodoris has a 29-3 record. Spencer Ng has a 33-2 record.

Senior Meghan Burns (33-2) and junior Catherine Senopoulos (35-2) have been strong at No. 1 doubles. Junior Rebecca Senopoulos (31-0) and freshman Victoria Martinez (35-0) are undefeated at No. 2 doubles.

"Our goal is to have fun and play well," Haddonfield coach Jeff Holman said. "If we play well, we have a chance against anybody."
