Haddon Township put in some extra work to remain undefeated on Thursday, when the host Hawks converted a set play to pull out a 2-1, double-overtime win over Woodbury in a wet and windswept Colonial Conference boys' soccer match.

Woodbury's Isaiah Owens and Township's Conor Engelbert traded first-half goals, but neither team was able to put the ball in the net until 8 minutes, 25 seconds remained in the second extra period - with Mike McCutcheon knocking home Kyle Hart's free kick.

Drew Hart stopped six shots in going the distance in the nets for the Hawks (9-0).

In another Colonial clash, Billy Balton scored twice to help Haddonfield double up host Overbrook, 4-2.

Burlington County. Sean Joyce scored what appeared to be an insurance goal with 11 minutes to go in regulation, but it turned out to be the game-winner as host Cinnaminson withstood a late rally to edge Burlington Township, 3-2. A minute after Joyce gave the Pirates a 3-1 cushion, Township struck back with Brendan Stringfellow's second goal of the day.

Cinnaminson goalie Eric Kissinger was able to hold on down the stretch, finishing with six saves. Max DiLeo and Tim Kemmerle rounded out the scoring for the Pirates, who improved to 4-0-1.

Cape-Atlantic. Justin Veltri's penalty kick with five minutes to go pulled host Oakcrest close and ruined Vincent Wilson's shutout bid, but Wilson received enough offensive support to backstop Hammonton to a 2-1 win. Kyle Schmid opened the scoring in the first half, and Taylor Akers boosted the Blue Devils' lead to two goals 15 minutes after intermission.

Tristan Johns scored the game's lone goal on a penalty kick in the second half, lifting host Ocean City over Mainland, 1-0.

Girls' Soccer

Becky Forcellini scored in the 33d and 54th minutes, and goalie Vicky Cocozza turned aside six shots in Cinnaminson's 2-0 triumph at Burlington Township in the Burlington County League.

Host Pemberton struck for three goals in the second half to race past Palmyra, 3-1. Cassandra Apholz, Essence Buckley, and Kasi Cassidy keyed the Hornets' late surge.

Colonial. Early goals by seniors Caroline Pease and Dana Kamerling put Haddonfield on course for a 4-0 victory over visiting Overbrook. Jessie Cashman made three saves in posting the shutout.

Cape-Atlantic. Abby Carey and Jessica Mann each had a goal and an assist to back the shutout goaltending of Jessica Figueroa, as host Mainland coasted past Ocean City, 4-0, to take over the American Conference Division II top spot.

Field Hockey

Kayla Soles scored off a scramble in front of the cage in overtime, giving New Egypt a 1-0 victory at Holy Cross in a Burlington County League match.

Courtney Natalicchio was credited with an assist on the goal, and netminder Danielle Solinski stopped six shots to earn the shutout.

Olympic. Host Camden Catholic got its attack on track in the second half to put away Seneca, 4-0.

Rachel Murtin had two goals while Danielle Frasca and Tara Vittese scored one each for the Irish, who led 1-0 at intermission. Shannon Cahill made three saves in silencing Seneca.

Cape-Atlantic. Behind Karlie Gruccio's hat trick, Buena tightened up the National Conference Division I race by pulling out a 4-3, overtime win at first-place Middle Township.

The host Panthers pulled even on Haley Allison's goal with just under 13 minutes remaining in regulation, but Gruccio knocked home the game-winner off a feed from Ashley Surran with 7:39 to go in overtime.

Stephanie Muller scored her second goal of the game by tipping in a pass from Meghan Oliver with 4:46 remaining in regulation, leading Lower Cape May to a 2-1 home win over Holy Spirit.
