Pemberton’s Raynor stars in Taliaferro all-star football game

Jordan Raynor is built like a linebacker, but insists that quarterback is his future position. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound senior from Pemberton made a lasting impression in his final high school game, scoring one touchdown and throwing for another as the Blue defeated the White, 34-0 in Saturday's Adam Taliaferro Foundation All-Star Classic at Rowan University.

The game featured many of the best graduating seniors in South Jersey. The Blue team consists of players from Burlington, Cumberland, Atlantic and Cape May Counties, while the White squad had players from Camden, Gloucester and Salem Counties.

"This means a lot to me to close things out this way," said Raynor, who will attend Pace University.

During recruiting, many schools were looking at him as a linebacker but Pace is bringing him in to play quarterback.

"My heart is set on quarterback and I wanted to come out and have a good game to set the momentum for college," said Raynor, who threw for 1,806 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior.

Raynor began the scoring with a 4-yard first-quarter run and the Blue offense was off from there.

In addition, Penn recruit Sebastian Jaskowski of Moorestown rushed for 133 yards on 16 carries and a 61-yard score to lead a Blue team that rushed for nearly 300 yards.

"You are playing against some of the best players in South Jersey so this is something I will cherish," Jaskowski said.

Blue running back Mike Cisrow of Bridgeton added 80 yards rushing and a 9-yard scoring run.

Cisrow is headed to Cumberland County College and plans to enroll at Rowan in the spring.

"I didn't know what to expect because I hadn't touched the rock for eight months," Cisrow said "It felt pretty good out there."

As usual, the big winner was the Adam Taliaferro Foundation, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in the fall and is a non-profit organization that helps support those with spinal injuries.
