McBride to join Winslow contingent at UMass

The University of Massachusetts football program does not have a recruiting pipeline to Winslow Township High.

It just seems that way.

Winslow safety Tyrone McBride, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound senior, yesterday made an oral commitment to Massachusetts. He will join two other Winslow grads - Jeromy Miles, who was a sophomore defensive back last year, and freshman wide receiver Julian Talley - at UMass.

Having those players there for his visit, "made him feel right at home," said Winslow coach Mike McBride, who is Tyrone's uncle.

Camden Catholic quarterback Marc Lucarini has made an oral commitment to Rhode Island, according to Irish coach Rick Brown.
