Jenkintown defeats High School of the Future in football

Jake McGrath threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to John Contoudis - who tacked on three extra-points throughout the day - and ran for another Drakes score.

Qudair Smith rushed for both Firebirds touchdowns, with a long of 53 yards.

Girls' Tennis

Jasmine Morris and Allison Newman of Perkiomen Valley defended their title as Pioneer Athletic Conference tennis doubles champions with a victory over Owen J. Roberts' Elaina Lee and Camryn Gelting.

Morris and Newman dropped the first set of the finals, 6-2, but fought back to win out by scores of 6-4 and 6-2.

Elsewhere in the PAC tournament:

Spring-Ford's Tori Alexander and Kathryn Alvarez defeated Dina Nouaime and Sydney Markowitz of Methacton in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.

All four teams have qualified for the District 1 Class 3A doubles championship on Thursday at Legacy Tennis Club.

Boys' Soccer

Nate Baxter netted a goal and an assist as North Penn defeated host Archbishop Wood, 3-0, after a scoreless first half in nonleague play.

Matt Farrell and Aidan Jerome added goals for the Knights while Andrew Maldonado picked up two assists.

Elsewhere in nonleague action:

Jude Corr assisted Jack Dougherty's goal in the first half as host Shipley beat Upper Merion, 1-0.

Mike Weir buried the lone goal and Andrew Daubenspeck picked up his eighth clean sheet of the season with five saves as host Perkiomen Valley dispatched Springfield (Delaware County), 1-0.

James Nmah knocked in two goals, while Andre Nmah scored once and notched an assist to lead Penn Wood past visiting Penncrest, 3-0.

Goodwill Agaadadan made three saves and preserved the clean sheet for the Patriots.

Mid-Atlantic Prep League. Hill School outshot visiting Hun School, 13-0, in the first half en route to a 3-0 victory on parents' weekend.

Junior Greg Zimmerman scored on a pass from Alex Tullman in the fifth minute to claim what would stand as the game-winning goal.

Fellow junior Ryan Wallace scored an insurance goal six minutes later while senior Nico Besselaar added the only goal of the second half.

Girls' Soccer

Sophomore Gia Vicari scored her second goal of the game with about 15 minutes remaining in regulation to lift host Baldwin to a homecoming triumph over Springside Chestnut Hill, 2-1, in Inter-Ac play.

Sophomore Simi Bleznak made eight saves while Natalie Sgro and Rachel White picked up an assist each for the 12-3 Bears.

Suburban One Continental. Bre Derenzi completed the comeback for host Souderton on a breakaway goal with just under five minutes left in the second half to claim a 2-1 victory over William Tennent.

The Indians trailed, 1-0, at halftime before Ali Trick tied the game with 10 minutes remaining off a rebound of Tori Dowd's shot.

Nonleague. Tied at two after regulation, Archbishop Wood and Gwynedd Mercy finished in a 3-3 tie after two overtime periods.

Sophia Filippo picked up a hat trick for the Vikings while the Monarchs relied on goals by Carley Heineman, Kelly Hutton, and Caitlin Panacek.

Kate Gordon and Hannah Zach provided the scoring in a 1-1 tie between Central Bucks East and host W.C. Henderson that stretched into two overtime periods.

Salem Carlow struck the game-winning goal for Unionville (9-4-4) in a 3-2 win over host Strath Haven (11-3-1).

Katie Borlie made six saves for the Indians, while Veronica Hineman and Sam Ciccarelli also scored.
