Downingtown East tight end Angeline commits to USC

"I liked pretty much everything about it," the 17-year-old said. "I felt at home on campus, was real comfortable with the coaches and the players. And Los Angeles is a great city."

The 6-foot-7, 230-pounder, the eighth-ranked tight end in the Class of 2016 according to 247Sports.com, chose the Trojans over Alabama, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among others. He had 30-plus Division I scholarship offers.

Last season, while earning Inquirer first-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania honors, Angeline caught 66 passes for 1,015 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Nash to Navy. Unionville senior defensive back Elan Nash committed to play at Navy. The 5-11, 190-pound speedster, also a wide receiver and kick returner for the Indians, was a first-team all-Ches-Mont American Conference selection last season.

Girls' basketball. Germantown Academy senior Kendall Grasela, a 5-10 point guard, pledged to play at Penn. A first-team all-Inter-Ac League pick last season, she also drew interest from Brown, Drexel, George Mason, and Lafayette.
