Hamilton scored in double overtime Monday to give second-seeded Central Bucks South a 2-1 victory over fourth-seeded Unionville in the PIAA District 1 Class AAA field hockey championship game.

Hamilton scored with 9 minutes, 49 seconds remaining in the second overtime.

"It felt like it was in slow motion," Hamilton said. "I just felt the ball come to my stick, and I don't even know what happened. We were all just so relieved and happy."

Hamilton's game-winner resulted from her shot near the goalmouth that found its way through a flurry of players and the goaltender.

Central Bucks South's co-head coach Jeff Harding was impressed with his team's determination in the crucial moments of the game.

"I thought they were really poised, but more importantly I thought they were in great shape," Harding said.

Hamilton's goal came just minutes after an offensive frenzy by Unionville, which forced Zeszotarski to make three saves in the first three minutes of the second overtime session. Zeszotarski finished with eight saves.

"You always have those butterflies in your stomach, especially when they get close," Zeszotarski said. "But I know my defenders, and I know their mind is always set to get the ball and hit it out."

The freshman stepped into the starting role when senior goaltender Gina Brigo suffered a season-ending injury in the preseason.

"I didn't even think I'd be playing varsity, let alone win the district championship," Zeszotarski said.

Unionville's Erin Karcher scored roughly 10 minutes into the game on a shot to Zeszotarski's right. The goalie deflected the shot but it still went in.

The Titans tied it 1:10 later when Emily Cliggett was corralled a rebound and put it past Unionville goaltender Morgan Cassidy.
