S. Jersey Boys: Minutemen dominate Pennsauken on mat

Washington Township's Steven Passarella and Dylan LaPalomento provided back-to-back technical falls, and Washington Township dealt visiting Pennsauken a 51-25 setback in Olympic Conference wrestling on Monday.

Passarella won in 5 minutes, 13 seconds at 112 pounds, and LaPalomento used 3:53 to stop his match at 119.

The Minutemen also got pins by Christian Matthew Salera (135 pounds), Patrick Mullin (160) and John Glennan (171).

Also at Township, Pennsauken rebounded with a 48-30 win over Bishop Eustace in a match that included a total of seven forfeits. Eric Butler (135) and Peter Hoang (145) had the Indians' only wins on the mat.

Seneca's Oliver Palumbo edged Triton's Nick Smuth, 2-1, in a 189-pound battled, aiding the visiting Golden Eagles' 48-22 win. Nick Moore had the fastest of five Seneca pins, using 1:38 to take his 160-pound bout.

Burlington County. Bordentown's Justin McTamney (119), Chris Nitschmann (130), Tyler Moore (135) and Shawn Gavin (140) each posted first-period pins as the Scotties flattened visiting Maple Shade, 63-15.

Colonial. Leading by 13-12 after five bouts, Haddonfield reeled off wins in the last nine weights and defeated host Audubon, 57-12. Kyle Kraus started the streak with a first-period pin at 112 pounds, and Chris Dengler (140) and Logan Vielehr (152) chipped in with major decisions.

Nonleague. Consecutive pins by Nick Panella at 145 pounds, Christopher McKendry at 152 and Torance LaCour at 171 highlighted Williamstown's 62-15 win at St. Joseph. In the closest match, Carmen Rocco (285) outlasted the Wildcats' Delance Hargrave, 5-2.

Rancocas Valley, ranked No. 6 in South Jersey by The Inquirer, scored 18 of the game's first 22 points and reeled off a 57-38 win against visiting Northern Burlington in a Burlington County League matchup.

The Red Devils' Kenny Johnson led all scorers with 18 points.

Tri-County. Woody Furbush's 24 points topped five Salem players in double figures during a 95-39 victory at Pennsville.

Cape-Atlantic. Jake Heminway's layup with six seconds to go in overtime gave Cape May Tech a 68-67 win over visiting Bridgeton.

Garrett Kerr scored 23 points, Marcus Harmon had 11 of his 18 in a 58-21 first half, and 10 Middle Township players chipped in with points in an 86-44 success against visiting Pleasantville.

Jameer Nelson Classic. LaQuinton Ross gunned in 31 points, but Life Center's late rally fell short in an 85-75 loss to Abington Friends (Pa.) at Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Nonleague. Malcolm Donkers scored 10 points to lead all players in the game and boost Camden Academy Charter past host Moorestown Friends, 30-29. Friends, which got nine points from Bryce Langlotz, had a three-pointer from the baseline miss the mark at the final buzzer.

Tyler Parent (16 points) and Ross Bertonazzi (13) combined for 20 points in Buena's 27-13 first half, and the Chiefs upended visiting Cumberland Christian, 43-29.
