Sam Carchidi's Flyers and NHL predictions
In last year's preseason, I correctly predicted that Chicago would beat Tampa Bay in the Stanley Cup Finals. Later, 14 of my 15 playoff-series picks were correct.

In other words, a prediction drop-off in 2015-16 is almost inevitable. But here I go anyway:
Flyers: sixth in the eight-team Metropolitan Division with 90 points, missing the playoffs for the third time in the last four years.
Points for Claude Giroux: 82.
Points for Jake Voracek: 77.
GAA for Steve Mason: 2.35.
When Shayne Gostisbehere will be promoted from the Phantoms: early January.
Most likely Flyer to be traded at deadline: Mark Streit.
NHL scoring champion: John Tavares, Islanders, 95 points.
Goal-scoring champion: Alex Overchkin, Capitals, 52 goals.
MVP (Hart Trophy): Ovechkin.
Rookie of year (Calder Trophy): Buffalo's Jack Eichel upsets Edmonton's Connor McDavid. (Dark horse: Chicago's Artemi Panarin).
Best defenseman (Norris Trophy): Los Angeles' Drew Doughty.
Best goalie (Vezina Trophy): Nashville's Pekka Rinne.
Coach of year (Jack Adams Award): Washington's Barry Trotz.
DIVISION WINNERS
Metropolitan: Washington.
Atlantic: Tampa Bay.
Pacific: Anaheim.
Central: Chicago.
Most improved team: Columbus.
Eastern Conference finals: Washington over Columbus.
Western Conference finals: Anaheim over Nashville.
Stanley Cup Finals: Washington over Anaheim.
