The Schenn brothers - Luke and Brayden - played a major role in the Flyers' 4-3 overtime win over Carolina on Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center.
Luke Schenn, a bruising defenseman, had eight hits and six blocked shots in a team-high 24 minutes, 50 seconds, while Brayden had a goal and two assists as the Flyers concluded a 3-0-1 homestand.
"Seven of eight points. We'll take it," said Luke Schenn, who will face his former Toronto teammates Monday. "It was good to get back on track a little bit, but we have to be a lot better on the road."
Brayden Schenn was a career-best plus-3.
"The past four games I've been trying to make more plays, carry the puck a bit more," he said after spending most of the game centering a line with Jake Voracek and new linemate Tye McGinn, who dropped down from the first line because of Wayne Simmonds' return.
"Tonight it clicked. Like I said, just build off it, don't get too hyped, and just keep going," Brayden Schenn said.
Simmonds returns
Simmonds, who sat out the previous three games with a concussion, said it took him a few shifts to get his timing back, "but as soon as I got into the corners and got a couple bumps, I started to feel more comfortable."
Simmonds spent most of the game on a line with Claude Giroux and Danny Briere.
"I thought we could have been a lot better," said Simmonds, adding that the unit had too many turnovers in the neutral zone.
Simmonds played 15:41 and had two shots, two hits, and two giveaways.
