Here are some facts about the new Flyers:

Brayden Schenn

6-foot, 190 pounds

Center, 19 years old

Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren called Schenn one of the best young players not playing in the NHL, calling him a "hidden gem." Schenn was the fifth-overall pick in the 2009 draft and has recorded an impressive 315 points in 224 games playing in the Western Hockey League. Holmgren said Schenn will go to the Flyers' development camp in July and then training camp.

"He's going to be given every opportunity to make our team for sure," Holmgren said.

Jakub Voracek

6-foot-2, 214 pounds

Left wing, 21 years old

The seventh overall pick in the 2007 draft has put up similar numbers the last two seasons for the Columbus Bluejackets, averaging 48 points, with 15 goals and 33 assists in 80 games. Holmgren said he wanted to get bigger wings for his offensive attack, and Voracek fits right in. Holmgren said Voracek will be able to step in and play in the Flyers' top-nine mix of forwards.

"Any time you take out two 26-year-olds and you sprinkle in a 22, 23 and 20 year old, you're younger for sure," Holmgren said.

Wayne Simmonds

6-foot-2, 183 pounds

Right wing, 22 years old

He is another young, big forward for Holmgren to plug in. Simmonds is also capable of stepping into the Flyers' top-nine forwards mix, according to Holmgren. Simmonds has averaged 15 goals and 20 assists over the last two seasons for the Kings. Simmonds also totaled 264 penalty minutes in 240 games with the Kings. He was a second round pick - No. 61 overall - by the Kings in the 2007 draft.

"We looked at our team at the end of the year and felt we needed to get bigger on the wing," Holmgren said.
